The web of tiny cracks in this glaze is called crazing. For some folks this glaze flaw is undesirable and seen as such. I personally enjoy crazing, so I tend to embrace the quality it brings to a piece. In extreme cases, crazing can result in the glaze chipping off, but I have had no issues with that happening with this glaze and that shouldn't be a concern. You should be aware that because these are tiny hairline cracks in the glaze, that some beverages and sauces can stain those cracks which will result in discoloration. For me, I don't mind this because it shows evidence of use and use = love. Keep in mind that civilization has used crazed pottery for centuries. *The most valid argument against crazing is that bacteria can live in those cracks, but studies have found that washing thoroughly with soap (especially in the dishwasher) is sufficient for sanitization.
